A hundred year ago cancer was not so common but its incidence is rising alarmingly since the last couple of decades. According to recent study, every fourth person is having a lifetime risk of cancer. We are continuously exposed to cancer causing agents, known as carcinogens, in the food we eat, in the water we drink and in the air we breathe. Moreover, modern day stress, from ‘cradle to grave’ promotes cancer by suppressing immune system of the body.
Normal cell division, in our body, is a highly regulated phenomenon, which is controlled by growth regulating genes and pathways (segments of DNA). Prolonged exposure to carcinogens damages DNA leading to mutations in the growth regulatory genes including oncogenes (ras, N-myc, c-myc, HER-2/neu, etc), tumour suppressor genes (p53, Rb, Ret, WT-1, APC, etc) and pathways (ras, Rb, myc, etc), resulting in loss of control over normal cell division. These abnormal, mutated cell proliferates indiscriminately usually forming a mass, known as neoplasm, or malignant tumour, or in simple words, CANCER.
With the passage of time, as the cancer grows in size, cancer cells undergo more mutations and acquire more evil characteristics such as ability to invade and move into the adjoining tissues, create new blood vessels for nutrition (tumour angiogenesis), evade the process of programmed cell death (apoptosis) and acquire the ability of limitless replication thus making cancer cells immortal. A few of the overcrowded cancer cells break from primary tumour and travel through lymph & blood vessels to other parts of the body to form new colonies, known as metastases. By the time a cancer is diagnosed, the cancer cells might have added many mutations, for example, Pancreatic cancer has 50 to 60 mutations, while Breast & Colon cancers usually have 50 to 80 mutations at the time of diagnosis. Similarly, most of the cancers are found to have 11 to 15 aberrant (mutated) pathways at the time of diagnosis. mutations while Breast and Colon cancers have 50 to 80 mutations at the time of diagnosis. Similarly, most of the cancers have 11 to 15 aberrant (mutated) pathways at the time of diagnosis.
Conventional approach to manage cancer is: cut it (surgery), burn it (radiotherapy) and poison it (chemotherapy). Other techniques like Bone Marrow Transplant, Stem Cell Transplant, Hormonal therapy, Cyber Knife, Gamma knife, Stereotactic Radio Surgery (SRS), TACE, TARE, Immunotherapy, Photodynamic therapy and Targeted Chemotherapy have their own limitations. While undergoing conventional treatment (such as chemotherapy, target chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone therapy, etc), cancer cells may acquire further mutations to turn resistant or refractory to the therapy, leading to progression or recurrence of cancer.
Sino Vedic Cancer Research Centre was founded in 1985 by Dr. S.P. Kaushal, M.B.B.S., M.D. (Chinese Medicine), Ph.D., D.Sc. (Honoris Causa), along with a team of doctors and scientists with the aim to explore the role of herbs in the treatment of cancer. As cancer is a malady of genes and pathways so the fight against cancer was focused at normalising the cancer cells by reversing their mutations. Over a period of more than two decades of systematic research, this team identified more than 450 anticancer herbs, having DNA repairing, antimutagenic, anti-tumourangiogenic, proapoptotic, immunoenhancing, radioprotective & chemoprotective properties and isolated concentrated extracts from the selected anticancer herbs to develop Cancertame Ayurvedic Formulation that helps to fight cancer at every step (genesis, growth and spread of cancer), without side effects.
Cancertame Ayurvedic Formulation tames aggressive cancer cells by repairing damaged DNA, inhibiting mutations in genes and pathways, blocking various cancer promoting enzymes and hormone, reviving the process of apoptosis, inhibiting tumour angiogenesis and enhancing immune system of the body. Cancertame helps to boost the immune system of the body against cancer by enhancing the activity of immune cells and promoting production of cytokines (including interleukins, interferons, tumour necrosis factors & colony stimulating factors) that help to fight cancer more effectively. Cancertame also reduces toxic side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy including bone marrow suppression and other life threatening complications.
Cancertame is a better remedy, especially for those patients, who have become resistant or refractory to chemotherapy and for those who are not fit to receive chemotherapy and radiotherapy due to old age, marked weakness or any other factor such as kidney failure, severe liver dysfunction or cardiac insufficiency. Cancertame can be taken alone or along with chemotherapy, target chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormone therapy, radiotherapy or any other treatment before or after the surgery.
